Help with uninstalling a unwanted program.

I thought I was installing a update for Firefox, but it seems it might have been a rouge program. It install a few unwanted programs, now I've managed to uninstall all but one program 'Norton Security Scan'. Also it seems when I open a new tab I get this.

Any help on getting rid of these.

Norton security scan is normally fine. It often comes on new PCs. Although it's likely you have a rogue version.

Regarding the search page - have you looked in the settings of firefox.

It might be a good idea to run a malware bytes scan as it sounds like it's potentially infected you

Go to free download. It gives you a full 14 day trial which is plenty to find and remove any of those nasties.

Google 'delta search' and you'll find plenty of removal suggestions. Pick 1 you trust.

With regards to the search new tab thing, I managed to remove it from IE (not that I really use it, but my folks still do) and Chrome, but not Firefox yet.

Well I tried it, and it still seems to be there after restarting.

As I remember. if it's pukka, it appears in Add/Remove Progs.

Did you run malwarebytes? Might be malware posing as Norton if you can't get rid of it anyway.

do you have NSSSTUB
in control panel/administrative tools/ task scheduler/ library

Don't forget to tick the remove boxes of the nasty's after Malware finishes its scan!
