windows live mail problem

On my laptop I have windows live mail ( win 8). When I log on, I get the notification regarding the calendar: your calendar has been updated , but it never stop it keeps flashing. I restarted windows ,repaired windows essentials and lastly resorted to system restore without success. How can I stop this flashing notification? Any ideas please.
