New Win8 PC set up question

I've set up aWin 8 PC for a friend. She's emailed me today saying the new one "doesn't have my favourites on Gmail or links to Buffer" and she needed it for Tweeting.

OK, I'd set up Twitter & Facebook access for her, though admittedly didn't take browser favourites across from old PC to new, but what does she mean by "favourites on Gmail" or "links to Buffer"?

I'm back there on Friday so can sort it then, but would like to get my head round at least an understanding of these sort of issues.

Mind you, I've no idea what Buffer actually means or does.

I'm not a TwitFacer so have no idea of those particular planets.

Sorted out the favourites, it was purely the browser favourites to import and set up.

Buffer seems to be a Twitter feature/add on to enable timed Tweets (terminology?).

My friend tells me there doesn't seem to be a version for Windows 8 - true?

Also does it also require a particular browser, e.g. Chrome?

An update. Buffer all sorted, now running 8.1, basically it is almost all ok, except...

She uses Skype to chat to family overseas. Sometimes Skype works, sometimes, e.g. last weekend, the "whole system shut down twice, but when he called me back later it was fine". It's set up as a desktop app rather than a Start screen app. The latest version is installed.

She has a Logitech webcam (not sure of the model) which worked fine on XP. I haven't explicitly installed any drivers or software for it.

Any thoughts on what the Skype issues might be? Is it Skype or could it be the webcam?
