Did you do your upgrade on the basis of "Upgrading this Machine" or "Upgrading other Machine" (i.e. in the 2nd case creating Media & then separately running that to upgrade)?

I carried out mine using the first method. However, I've now restarted on the basis of creating Media, which I will attempt to run tomorrow (far too late tonight)!

I upgraded from the mounted iso by running setup.exe on both machines.

Eventually I got there!!

In my original attempt I had tried the "Upgrade this PC" option.

This time I used the "Upgrade Another PC" Option to create a Media Device onto a brand new USB Drive.

I started setup.exe & it went into checking mode - after an amount of time, it failed as it alleged it was unable to create a Folder (it didn't bother to explain whether it was talking about a Folder on my C:\ Drive or one onto my USB).

Tried again - this time it decided that my USB needed scanning & repairing, before it would properly commence.

Using the Option of keeping NOTHING, I eventually got there!

Glad you got there eventually. Are you activated, some saying that they can't get activated.

Problem I had was with NVIDIA driver, it would keep crashing. So I searched the web and one solution was to run driver cleaner from Guru3d, and re-install a fresh copy of the latest driver. So far so good.

Other problem I have seen is settings won't run, and there is a fix but as you did a clean install you should be ok.

Things took an unusual turn overnight, woke up to a non responsive machine. Power was on so ended up doing a hard reset and it booted normally. Checking the event logs there is an entry at bootup that says the computer unexpectedly shutdown at 03.24. Nothing in the event log around that time so not alot to go on for debugging!

Think I have solved my freezing problem by removing a program called Speccy which eventually gave me a blue screen pointing to cpu-z an internal cpu diagnostic, so far so good.

Question: How do you get Cortana voice search set up?

Select Cortana and then the microphone icon. You may need to set that up, but after that it should work fine whenever Cortana is selected. If you want to activate it with joyous call of "Hey, Contana", you need to go into the Cortana settings and activate it there.

Still waiting for mine.
