Transferring a license Key

I have a Toshiba laptop which I upgraded from W7 to W8 pro then to W8.1 pro. Over the last couple of days I have since upgraded to W10.

However I decided to upgrade my laptop and would like to transfer my license.

When I use slmgr.vbs to try and install the license I get an error

"error on a computer running Microsoft Windows non core edition run slui.exe 0x2a 0xc004e016 to display the error"

Can this be done?

I want to transfer the original W8 license I had to my new laptop

But that's been converted into your Windows 10 licence.

What is currently running on your new laptop?

The indispensable man or woman passes from the scene, and what happens next is more or less the same thing as was happening before.
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync 57676/14040kbps @ 600m. - BQM

If you are upgrading a OEM version of Windows on your Laptop, then Windows 10 will be a OEM, so you will not be able to transfer the licence.
