By the way, Windows 8 and Windows 10 is still far more stable than Windows 7.

I would dispute that !
I look after dozen Win 7 (all flavours) machines in my extended family, two used for daily work from home.
We have NEVER had a problem !
Mind you I install all updates manually, usually a week or 10 days later, having first checked for problem reports.

Currently I don't envision a move to Win 10 until July 2016.....wink

It has given me very few problems. I even bought a copy before SP1 was released. Usually, I wait until SP2 before I buy any MS product. I think I'll wait for SP4 before I try Win 10.

10 is just a virus. I have gone back to 7 pro which is just the best one they did IMHO

I often wonder how they managed to make such a good job of Windows 7.

How's about 6 years worth of patches etc etc? Might have something to do with it. By the way, Windows 8 and Windows 10 is still far more stable than Windows 7.

Not for me I have a problem with NVidia drivers, all the Win 10 drivers crash my machine only the Win 8 V347.88 are stable. But Windows Update keeps wanting to install the new buggy drivers on my machine despite using rollback in device manager to get back to the Win 8 drivers. I think I have stopped WU from updating the drivers but it seems to stop all other updates including Virus Definitions. If I manually check for updates the driver gets installed so I have to rollback the driver ad infinitum.

It's the tweaked, patched re-brand of Vista, that's why.

So it would appear that you are disputing my statement that Windows 8 and 10 are more stable than 7 when you haven't even tried 8 or 10.

Interesting!

Allow me to correct that for you.

I haven't used Windows 8 but as far as I am concerned, for Windows 10 to be more stable than Windows 7, it would have to be [censored] good indeed.

Saying Windows 7 is more stable than Windows 8 is just silly. You don't see people saying Windows Server 2008 is more stable than Windows Server 2012 do you?

If people have a problem with using the interface in Windows 8, that is a different matter, it is nothing to do with stability.

fwiw I believe that Windows 8.1 / Windows Server 2012 R2 is probably more stable than Windows 10 currently, but strongly suspect that will probably change in the next few months when the next "major" update comes out.

I do actually have considerable experience to back my views up but it would be wasted on the irrationality of the Windows 8 and Windows 10 haters, some of the comments about Windows 8 and 10 are just sheer nonsense and it is clear it doesn't matter what facts or figures I could present that people would be disinterested.

I didn't say that. I'm just speaking from my own experience which is running Win 7 on my desktop and my laptop, and I have found it to be very stable indeed. When I come to make the switch to Win 10, if it serves me as well as Win 7, I shall be delighted. For the time being, I am content to stand and watch the discomfort of early adopters as they struggle with mandatory updates.
