Data Recovery?

Hi,

So cut a long story short and I need advice from you guys, my laptop had its hard drive replaced last year because it failed, data was transferred by the it guy I gave to do it, but this time hes not around and I have had to factory reset it, is there any way of me getting my data back fom the C (my computer) drive?
it has done a fresh install of HP/Windows 10 and I'm a bit stumped.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

You can Google for file recovery software (there's quite a lot of it about) but, TBH, having wiped the disk and reinstalled the operating system I wouldn't rate you chances of success at greater than 1 or 2 percent.

The classic answer to such a question is "you restore your data from the backups". If your data wasn't important enough to backup then it's probably not worth the effort of trying to recover it.

Sorry to sound pessimistic, but that's just the way things are.

Data recovery firms could probably get a fair bit of the data back - but they can be expensive and likely to pay no matter what they can recover.
