cannot print emails in windows 10

Hi, I use gmail in windows outlook. However I cannot print emails. I follow the rules ie highlight the email, click on the dots in top right corner, press print, I get a preview, press "print", the printer icon appear on the bar, then disappear as you would expect, but no print. Why? I think, it may be a window update.I also noticed a lot of people have the same problem but no solution so far, unless one of you know!!

Start by ensuring you can print other things, such as notepad, other webpage etc. If not, it seems global, and move onto going into printer properties, print test page, diagnosis if not working and so on.

If printing over wireless, ensure printer is seen by network.

Hi, yes I can print any other documents, on my laptop and desktop. In fact I managed to print the email from my android phone!!

You refer to windows outlook. Do you mean the Outlook email client that's part of MS Office, or the outlook.com webmail service?

I use the Outlook email client on my PC and can certainly print gmail emails from it. I've also just tried, via Chrome, going into my Gmail account and can successfully print an email. It took a second or so after selecting Print to getting the Preview screen, but then selecting Print it prints.

I'm sure it's a "suck eggs" comment but I assume the default printer for the app you're using is set correctly?

Hi, it is the outlook that is part of windows 10.. I can print documents from my both machines ( laptop and desktop), except emails. I am sure I have printed emails before but I do not do that very often. I think this happened after recent windows update. When I search for an answer I found other people have exactly the same problem.
Now if I want to print an email, I save it, then print it!!

Can you print it to a PDF file?

Outlook is not part of Windows 10! You are talking about the MS Outlook webmail, https://outlook.live.com/ through any browser. That has a menu indicated by '...' containing 'Print when viewing an email.

Which browser are you using to get to it? Try using another browser.

They are talking about the Windows 10 Mail app.

Are they? How do you know? I'm thinking they are talking about the Win 10 MS Edge app browser.
