Well you would think, but I was on Opera 45/46 (forget which), and updates were ok, because they could be disabled. Then Opera updated to 47, and suddenly there's a red box on my browser's bar when there are updates. It can't be got rid of easily, if you're not in the mood to update. That to me is intrusive. Not all updates to browser versions are security, and not all are guaranteed to work. I prefer letting other, more
naive intrepid users test software.
To get rid of the persistant red box, I had to create a shortcut with:
"C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Programs\Opera\47.0.2631.55\opera.exe" -disable-update
So for me, if I have to hack my browser to get it working the way I want it, I don't want it.
