Yup, I had a RAID 0 setup back in the early noughties. A couple of IBM Deskstar 60gxps. Now one or two of you might already guess the results, given the product mentioned. Suffice it to say, something went phut, and both drives and the drive controller went with it (new motherboard).
I've not considered RAID 0 for a long time, but the idea of two NVME sticks joined to give me a 4TB extra-speedy RAID 0 volume is rather tempting. I could have the system boot in 3 seconds instead of 4.
