Can't connect to this network

[link to this post]

Can Anyone help me get my laptop connected to a home WiFi.

Laptop is Dell i7 dual boot win 10 and Ubuntu. It spends 99% of its time in Ubuntu and this connects without any issues.
The network is my Mothers large house with John Lew Broadband (their router with WIfI turned off) and I had 2 TP-LInk wifi access points, but the performance was awful and I swapped them to two Ubiquiti AP Lite. I kept the same SSID and password.

I have not had any problem in reconnection other windows, android set-top box and iOS machines but on my laptop after selecting the SSID entering password it says "Checking Network requirements" then "Can't connect to this network".

The 1st time I tried this it said words to the effect that the network has changed foget it? to which I replied Yes.

Any clues hoe to diagnose and fix what the problem is?

Thanks for any help.

Tim.

Thanks for the fast response.

I have just been through those solutions, but I am afraid that the problem still remains.

Just a random thought but are the AP and laptop talking on the same WiFi channel or is one set to 2.4GHz and the other to 5GHz?

Run Support Assist from Dell and check all drivers are up to date.

Download a copy of inSSIDer from MetaGeek and run that. It should show the APs it can see - check 2.4 & 5 GHz

Are there any non-alphanumeric characters in the password? If so, remove them and try again.
