WhatsApp App

[link to this post]

I use WhatsApp on Windows Desktop, via the App downloaded from Microsoft Store.
Since Yesterday it does not function, both the regular version or the beta version.
No problem using the WhatsApp web version.

This affects 2 machines on Win 11. Win 10
There is no reference to any errors on the www.

Trying to seek an answer from Meta via their A.I. Bot.has proved futile.
Is there anyone else, finding this problem

No problem here but if I remember correctly it changed from an App to a WebApp sometime ago. Mine was updated and it still works. Same with Messenger. Wish Meta would stop changing things.

I would uninstall and reinstall; its still shown as being in the MS Store on whatsapp.com

Many applications are written using web technology that lives outside the browser, including the "new" Outlook for Windows (normal Outlook for Mac) and things such as Teams, or Slack.

Thanks, that looks like the solution. I have had to go to the web version.

Probably done in stages, I checked on a friends Win 11 P.C. The app is fully functional.

1 GB RAM is pretty wild. As I look as mine now, it uses just 50 MB when idle.
