Copilot and Outlook

[link to this post]

My mum is trying to use CP to help summarise a load of emails talking about one topic.

It's a work account. They have been told they can use CP for work stuff before anyone says anything.

If she just picks any old email in outlook and right clicks on it she gets the summarise with copilot option but when selecting 2 or more the option is gone.

She has a good 30 or so emails she needs to get a summary off for a meeting tomorrow and thought this new fangled AI thing could help... What's the point in getting a summary of 1 email.. that's easy to do without ai..

Anyone know how she can get this done?

Copy the emails into a single email and have that summarised? Or copy the individual summaries into an email and get that summarised.

I tend to think it is not going to go well. If you are summarising a bunch of emails, it might be important to capture the different trains of thought and lines of argument. AI might just blandify them, making a convergent soup, when the value might be in seeing the different lines of thought.

100% agree, and especially the case if this is Microsoft Copilot as it's not as good as others such as Google Gemini.
