Regrade to Zen Home 350...

[link to this post]

I notice some lines turning up on my portal with a regrade to Zen Home 350. I know there was an e-mail ages ago saying there was a plan, but didn't Zen say they'd communicate again at a later date? I see no such communication and yet I now see lines changing.

It'd be good to know so any issues that result could be linked to the change, since otherwise if I hadn't happened to log in I'd have said "no nothing has changed" when asked...

Since I have a Home 250 account (or rather, my mother does) I'm similarly keen to know what's happening about the regardes to 350. I periodically get asked the question by her, and have to admit that nothing appears to be happening....

Remember, this all kicked off way back with this and the last update was the notification that Home 250 was being withdrawn here. It would be nice to have this one finally put to bed.

Hi therioman,

Would it be possible for you to e-mail the list of services which have been affected to [email protected] please? You can place my name in the title if you like.

We have been sending out various communications so I'd like to see what has happened to yours.

Thanks,
Brian

Interestingly this morning I've had a whole load of Regrade e-mails, "thanking" me for regrading to Zen Home 350, saying date order placed 10 Nov 08, but these e-mails are the first I've had, as I spotted it in the portal.

Do you still want a list?

We (Zen) contacted all of our Home 250 customers at the beginning of April 2008 to inform them of the changes to their Zen Internet Broadband services. We had received notice from BT Wholesale that they were going to retire this product. Our decision was to move all of our Home 250 customers to a product which was created specifically for them - generally located a long distance from their nearest BT exchange.

In order to ensure the process causes minimum inconvenience we have worked closely with BT. We are currently contacting customers by letter and email one week in advance of their migration date. We anticipate that by February 2009 all of our Home 250 customers will have been moved over.

Thanks,
Steve.

Curious

In the past Ive recommended your 250 products a couple of times for people with long lines.
Now that the 256kb product is being withdrawn, how does the 350 work?

Im well aware of the IPStream Max Profile 500, 1000 + 2000 (which arent quite the same as the traditional fixed 512kb, 1Mb + 2Mb, but work in a similar way free from the DLM).

>> In order to ensure the process causes minimum inconvenience we have worked closely with BT.

Are you saying that youve negotiated something along the lines of a Max Profile 500 but capped at 350.. and if BT is making it part of their product set.
or is it 'just a Maxdsl' product that has had the bRAS profile somehow fixed?

Also can you tell me the price (and other info) so I can update this please.

It would be nice to have some more info on just what the new product is ....
.... with a bit more than a weeks notice. (we could well be on holiday, etc, for well over a week)

If not posted here, then sent to Home 250 customers by mail.

Yeah, I got the earlier notification, but I did not get an e-mail or letter a week before.

But then recently Zen has started doing what it feels like when it comes to sending things to us - I've NEVER changed our postal address but we suddenly started getting mail delivered to a different address.

As for e-mail, I've had NOTHING except the order forfilled e-mails.

Zen aren't selling it to anyone new, it's only for existing Home 250 as I understand.

That decision smacks, but hey, these days nothing suprises me with Zen as they don't seem to be able to organise anything properly. I asked, as have others for Home 350 to be a salable product, but as far as I know Zen have decided 8000 Lite is what you want.

I'd like to see more information, but it's a bit late, I've had 2 lines regraded already. Thanks Zen. Not. *grrr*
