Netflix VPN

[link to this post]

Hi folks,

All of a sudden, with no changes to my router (which has no VPN) my Netflix account won't work as it says that I am using a VPN which I'm not.

Any ideas?

I've rebooted the Zen router to try and get a new IP address but that doesn't seem to have worked.

TIA

I'd check anti-virus (or similar) isn't proxying calls - does the agree with the router?

Sign out of Netflix on all your devices. To be sure I’d then change your Netflix password. Once done try signing into Netflix again and see if the error persists.

The IPv6 IP address shown on that page and another What's my IP page are the same but different (by one or two numbers) from the one shown in the router settings.

Is that something to be worried about?

Edit: Apparently is Apple's iCloud relay that does that so all ok.

Netflix works ok on all sub user accounts on all devices it's just the primary user account that has an issue.

Has anyone borrowed your Netflix primary account login details? Friend, family etc.

No.

After a quick google, it appears it's a known current issue with Netflix which resolves after a few weeks.

Hmm that sounds odd. Did Zen update your public IP address range recently? Thinking it could be some sort of white-list issue.

Personally I’d open a ticket with Netflix to check that they don’t think you’re in another country etc. Netflix ain’t cheap. So I wouldn’t be waiting around for this to fix itself.

Using Netflix's own speed tester, it shows I have a GB IP address

If you use the Netflix app on your phone (data via mobile network only, WiFi switched off) does it still give you the (same) error?
