Is Zen currently down?

[link to this post]

Router (DG834Gv3) is currently synced, but refuses to connect to Zen at all. Tried rebooting a few times, but it makes no difference. Anyone else having this problem?

Try clearing your cache by using Ctrl/F5 key. this should sort it.

Erm? Exactly how will a forced browser refresh get my router to successfully login to a PPP session?

All seems to be back up now. Must have been an exchange issue as even the bt_test login wouldn't work.

Sorry, misread your question. I thought you were having trouble connecting from your router and I should have suggested. Have you tried ipconfig /flushdns from a run command whist you are connected to the router? This is the advice a friend tried after losing his connection to zen after he had turned his router off for a while and it would not connect on rebooting of PC or router..

No problem. All seems to be well now - whatever it was has sorted itself. Must have been an exchange issue though as I ended up getting out my currently retired (due to very poor ADSL Max performance) Vigor 2800G to look at its more detailed logging which was showing that the LCP was in fact timing out.

There are a couple of command line tweaks available for the draytek. latest firmware available from draytek support site that have been shown to make the device very stable on max dsl.

Draytek UK

May be worth a look for you....

Tried it both the new maxdnrate tweak and the coddinggain tweak with neither really making any difference. The problem is both the Vigor's lack of stability against short intermittent noise spikes, and it's stubborn insistence on re-syncing everytime the SNR improves.
The DG834Gv3 suffers from neither of these problems (in addition to consistently syncing a few hundred Kbps faster too), and I can happily see a good couple of hundred hours of uptime, whereas the Draytek was only ever lucky to manage 8-10 hours. Shame really as I liked the Draytek which is why I am keeping it at the moment in the hope that Draytek resolve its current issues with Max on anything other than a ideal line conditions.
