emails to @bskyb.com ?

[link to this post]

Hi,

I've been trying to email [email protected] for the past few weeks and so far without much luck, and have been trying to inform sky about this via telephone and via their feedback form - however no such luck as the problem is still there.

Here is the output of my smtp server (and I've even disabled iptables altogether)

Could always try the good old telnet SMTP ?

telnet 193.117.250.170 25
helo zen.co.uk
mail from: [email protected]
rcpt to: [email protected]
data
test
.
quit

My example seems to of been accepted by them;

angel# telnet em0.sky.com 25
Trying 193.117.250.170...
Connected to em0.sky.com.
Escape character is '^]'.
220 ***********************
helo zen.co.uk
250 +OK SMTP server V1.17 Ready
mail from: [email protected]
250 +OK Sender OK
rcpt to: [email protected]
250 +OK Recipient OK
data
354 Start mail input, end with "<CR><LF>.<CR><LF>"
test
.
250 +OK message queued for delivery.
quit
221 Service closing transmission channel closing connection
Connection closed by foreign host.

nope, nothing much happens:

Trying 193.117.250.170...
Connected to mail.sky.co.uk (193.117.250.170).
Escape character is '^]'.
helo zen.co.uk
Connection closed by foreign host.

does it work for you ?

edit - I see it works for you, still doesn't work for me ?, I've even tried both smtp servers for bskyb.com
em1.sky.com internet address = 193.195.115.65
em0.sky.com internet address = 193.117.250.170

Yes, updated my original post

They either;

Block your IP
Block your IP range
Your box is still doing something 'funky' to connections

Block your IP - could very well be
Block your IP range - could very well be
Your box is still doing something 'funky' to connections - I've done tcpdumps, log analysing and disabled DoS on the adsl router and still nothing.

Well I've tried without success to contact sky via phone and email, will try via my zen webmail really didn't want to be looks like I've no choice.

Or use mailhost.zen.co.uk to send the mail instead of using direct delivery from your box?
