I don't understand part 2 - this time it's cost...

Continuing on from This thread what are peoples solutions (if any) to the current Zen situation?

Or do you have any other issues you wish to raise?

What solutions are necessary?

Zen have made their choice; customers can make their choices. When the BT price structure changes appreciably we can all (ISPs and customers alike) reconsider those choices.

Going on about it is the least useful thing to do.

Paul

Well maybe a pre-emptive strike on a possible price structure would convince some to hang on with zen until we know what's happening?

The ADSL2+ sounds a good idea.
Since my exchange isn't LLU's I will leave that one on the back burner for now

Zen have informed customers of their intended 'solution' and given plenty of notice for customers to seek a different 'solution' elsewhere if they don't like Zen's

What else needs said?

Glad you restarted this chestnut, they'd feed me to the wolves if I had.

Folks don't like my solution (charge more for MAX) but then again Zen should have remained a business ISP when it launched MAX and not joined the Budget ISP market. Instead it moved into that sector due to fear of losing customers.

What that meant was most home users on zen moved to MAX saving at least

The thing is Buggz your solution isn't a solution.

Even if Zen charged those on max

Besides - the only 'problem' Zen are suffering from is Buggz and others with exessive usage. Why should other customers pay for their usage.

This solution is good - it reduces the impact they will have (or makes them pay more towards it) whilst not penalising further the rest of the paying customers. As for the 'problems' they had with support, I'd say this proved their price drop worked as they had to recruit new staff. And anyone who's been involved in IT recruitment knows how difficult and time consuming it can be to recruit good staff and train them up.
