Hello,

for around two weeks now me and other zen users I know have been experiencing high pings to gameservers abroad. From the tracerts below you can see where the problems are, mainly above.net

Can anyone suggest what I can try or who i can contact, I have tried with the gameserver providers but they said "take it up with your isp".

I appreciate any replys.

You could always ring TS and complain about the routing. If enough people do that, then they might change it

And what, pray tell, do you suggest they change it to?

What a facile reply. How the hell should I know. It is not my job to make those decisions, that is what I pay my ISP to sort out.

I was merely suggesting that if there was a perceived problem among a section of Zen customers, then a concerted reporting to Technical Support might produce results.

Sorry I made a constructive posting - perhaps you have lost the ability to see that.

If its any consolation im in the same boat, but my pings arent as high as yours. Up until a few weeks ago i was pinging to zen at 13-15ms, but now its gradually increasing and is now up to 45-48ms. So if i leave it a few weeks ill probably catch u up. Ive sent an email to zen explaining the prob, so im just waiting for a reply

Oh come on, all Zen need to do is to install a ping reducer

"Perhaps you do not understand how the Internet works?"

What's so difficult about turning down Cogent peering? It improves latency in 99% of cases. Cogent have an appalling reputation for running their network hot. As for Above.Net, they seem to be running their LINX connection rather warm. It is not something I'd expect from them and I expect Zen won't stand for it for long.

Or just blackhole the traffic for those routes....
