Slowdown Anybody?

My download speeds were fine until just after 12 noon. Circa 6.5-5 mbps has been the norm for me for several months. For the next hour they varied between 4 and 2 mbps. I changed gateway from Gauthier to Gauss with no improvement. My exchange is green. Anbody else?

I'm on Gauss and getting http://www.speedtest.net/result/158877443.png which is Ok for this time of day.

hi same here too
very poor here too.i normally get 3.4 meg its at 1 meg just under at the moment.

i know the kids are on holiday so whether they have taken alot of the bandwidth im not sure.

The kids were on holiday at the weekend, at half-term, at Easter, etc. Yesterday (Sunday) I didn't drop below 5 mbps. On Saturday, my minimum was 5.5 mbps. We can't blame the poor wee kiddies....

EDIT: After 3 attempts I managed to run the BT performance tester Result:

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 6420 kbps

Mine not to reason why, I suppose....

Yes- my line is syncing at 2.5mbit as per usual, but I am only getting 1mbit from newsgroups, speedtests and the like.

Good job im migrating next week to LLU - roll on.

Not noticed anything specific, but then I've not been downloading much.

BT Speedtest just now says:

DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 7616 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 6032 kbps
