"Newsletter" - codswallop !

[link to this post]

I opened the Zen "newsletter" today to find this gem - " Enter your postcode at FishMech and Google Maps will show you the members of the BNP who live nearest to you.", and following the link takes you to a page saying "hope you find the bnp nazi you're looking for "

Why should I want to do this ? Why do Zen think it important to tell me ?

Another "News" item tells me "Give it up for Barack Obama mixing it with Jackie Wilson. "

Zen, where's the News ? in your newsletter ?

Maybe this...... ? "72 per cent say they would change provider if their Internet connection became unreliable" - survey of 1000 small businesses. Big deal !

Who writes this rubbish ? Time to unsubscribe, methinks !

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was confused. I was sat on a plane thinking "what on earth" as I looked.

I sat here thinking "Have they promoted the tea boy to Newsletter Editor ?"

For a company that promotes itself as a top business broadband provider, this "newsletter" simply makes them look like cowboy outfit.

Here's a money-saving idea, Zen - sack Rod Fielding, and give us all a reduction in our subs !

This is my personal feeling but.....

I'm really concerned about how Zen could even consider pointing people to anything that contains personal information. Irrelevant of the topic, or that this is not on their site, it was out of order to include it in a newsletter.

Thanks, but no thanks. I've changed my settings to no longer receive these emails from Zen.

Agree with you - just read the newsletter and then came here to see if there were any other comments about it in general. Not really what I want/expect from an ISP's newsletter. No "news" about the VAT changes? Seems to have missed the point of the newsleter a bit doesn't it?

I have to agree that this was a serious misjudgement. I have no time for the BNP but this is an abuse of private data compounded by an ISP. It would be A Good Idea for Zen to send out an apology to its newsletter subscribers.

Otherwise, the newsletter has usually been mildly entertaining, occasionally enlightening and always well-written. Compared to my last ISP's 'newsletter', it's a contender for the Booker Prize.

It is of course a newsletter for surfers rather than a chronicle of Zen events. The latter would be a welcome addition.

Must admit I tend to skim through the Zen Newsletter of late but had to go back to read the BNP section. Slightly bemused by its inclusion in there.

Not the sort of newsletter I would expect from Zen, very disappointed.

I've unsubscribed from the newsletter, the link to the BNP members site should have not been included. I'm sure Zen wouldn't like their 'member list' going walkies.
