FTTC Trial

[link to this post]

Just had an email from Zen asking if I'm interested in taking part in the trial, I'm seriously considering taking up the offer, just wondering if anyone else here received the same email and looking to join as I don't really know anything about FTTC. The email said spaces are limited and it's available of a first-come-first-served basis.

Anyone here know how many people Zen is looking to accept for the trial.

As one of the staff members on the trial personally I would say go for it as its a great product, for the moment we are only offering it to a small number of customer's so we can manage the trial result's properly and then scale things up as the trial progress's. I don't have any hard figures but I wouldn't be surprised if the initial trial size was between 50 and 200.

If you have any other question's on FTTC just let me know smile

Hi there,

I just have 2 questions in regards to the trial if that is ok?

1. Do you need me to get a MAC from my LLU provider(O2)?
2. If I initially subscribe to the Fibre Pro service but then later decide I need more of a download allowance will I be able to change the package I am on?

Many Thanks

Hi Maniac,

On the first point can I ask you to PM me the telephone number of your broadband line, the trial invites should only have been sent to customers with active Zen lines. Did you recently move services to O2?

Ether way if you have the invite we would honour it but you would need to migrate the service to Zen for us to provide the FTTC.

On the other point if you were on the service you would be able to change between the packages as needed.

Hi there,

I have PM'd you my BT telephone number, I have been with O2 for well over a year and I am now out of contract with them so will be able to obtain my MAC at any time.

Unfortunately not live in Rochdale yet - otherwise I'd be wanting to trial it too!
The staff who are trialling it so far live in other parts of the greater Manchester area which are already enabled.

The commercial trial is coming, but we're not ready to start quite yet.
