Re: Reync every few hours

Just to add, when I spoke to Zen initially tech support person also said he could see it was reauthenticating up to 10 times a day and could see a high error count

Just to update I connected a 2wire 2700 last night and spoke to Zen today, apart from a blip at 3 a.m. its apparently been stable, router is showing lots of errors though.

Am looking for a replacement router as have been after an IPv6 capable one for a while and have seen the Zoom X7, any Zen users using this?

the 2700 holds onto the line but seems a bit sluggish at times so don't really want to leave it in situ permanently

make sure you have a cup of tea waiting for the engineer, suprising how much more helpful they can be!

Try and see if you have a temporary improvement after he has used his tester on your line. But hopefully you will get a perminant fix.

Keep me updated, will be interesting to know cause of the problem when you get it sorted.

Ah yes, know about the tea and biscuits trick and will keep the thread updated.

Going to ring tomorrow afternoon for a check from Zen's end, seems to be stable but error count is high, speed tests seem to be bouncing between 3.2 and 3 Mbps which of course may mean the error correction is working overtime.

I did put my existing filter and cable back as would like to know if my existing router is really dead.

FTTP is being rolled out from the exchange I'm on so am wondering whether they've moved some line bundles.

Just a thought, I know a site visit to my house is potentially chargeable but can I ask Zen to ask Openreach to carry out some checks at the exchange or is Openreach set in its ways?

As long as there is nothing wrong with your equipment there is nowt to worry about. If you use that Router Stats program it will show that the problem is intermittant, so if the OR engineer says there is nowt wrong then you can just say its intermittant and he came at a good time. Think its unlikely they could charge you onthat basis.

Well, it look it was my Netgear as according to Zen and what I can see on the 2700, the line has been rock steady since.

I've ordered a Zoom X7 which is Broadcom based as I keep the 2700 as backup.

When it arrives we'll see what happens.
