NetGear Fibre Router

I hope to upgrade to fibre soon. Having had a lot of trouble in the past with Technicolor routers, I am thinking of buying the NetGear WNR2200 router. Zen's Fibre Broadband Hardware page says that the maximum number of users is 4. What exactly would this mean in practice? I can't see any reference to this anywhere on the net.

It can't be referring to the 4 LAN ports as the Technicolor has the same number of ports but has unlimited number of users.

I have just had a reply from Zen which confirms the inconsistency:

Please accept my apologies for any ambiguity, this refers to the number of wired LAN ports, you could then have a number of wireless users in addition to this.

Which means impressively the others have an infinite number of wired ports.

Well, there's nothing to prevent you adding more switches...

Surely the same applies to the Netgear...the point being that the Netgear is shown as 4 and the others are shown as unlimited when there is no difference.

If we are being pedants, then surely the limit is the size of the IP Block that exists on the LAN side?

Most consumer grade routers will die well before then if you got more than 20 simultaneous users, as the NAT table is likely to fill up.
