Re: What is superfast broadband

Congestion at 7am would be a big surprise, more likely from 4pm onwards until around midnight.

So if this is repeating daily it may be some electrical interference affecting the ADSL, so think about anything electrical used in the house that is only used at those times.

Moira's Monday 0915 speed was 3.35 and mine (Bruce) was 3.88 both done at exactly the same time, that we were doing them in parallel and not in series. I have learnt how to reboot the router which has been on for well over 6 months, too soon to comment on the result.

Here is the Bruce result.

It is not clear from what you said, but just in case

Running two speed tests in parallel, i.e. at the same time is not a good idea, and our graph suggests this may have been the case.

Speed tests need you to be really doing nothing else with the connection

What is superfast broadband problem solved

[re: deleted] [link to this post]

My problem is solved and thanks to the responder who told me how to reboot the router. I switched off, waited for the count of 10 and switched on. My wife on her pc and me on mine both at the same time are now getting decent results.

Our two-person router has been contiinouslly ON for at least six months and probably even a year. After all, we are told not to switch it off when shut down but to leave it on --- so we did.
