Accidentally disconnected.

Fibre died friday afternoon, man from openreach came out yesterday said i was disconnected in the cabinet, seems a previous engineer disconnected me.

guess next time the net goes off when i'm about i'll quickly look up the road and see if an openreach van is outside the cabinet.

has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, a couple of times over the last 2 years or so.

You'd probably be surprised how often it happens.

And how often OpenReach deny it happens. lol...

Usually happens around here when the Kelly's boys are in the cabs with the boxing gloves on. My neighbour has been cut off 4 times this year!

I experienced more failed appt., messed up installs, and outright c***ups with that company than I care to mention.

OR while rubbish, at least turned up when they said they would.

For me it's always been when the engineer didn't know which circuit served who at the DP so he disconnected them all. I've had to go out and shout at them a few times.

Wonder if the engineer gets told off for disconnecting someone, it costs money to send someone out to fix it.

My phone was cut off at the cabinet a few weeks ago, Openreach Bod came round Sunday morning to reconnect it with apologies.

For ADSL it used to be hundreds of wires on a small board at my exchange. It was so easy to knock other wires. The engineers used to use long pliers to make sure they only got the ones they needed

And don't just think it happens at the PCP level, I've had a megastream shelf shutdown in error at an exchange on me before which wipes out a load of trunks, I've even had an SDH shelf 'disconnected in error'
