Re: Zen Call Charge increase.

Looks like you've missed the point. I pay line rental. Something that is about to be phased out anyway and make NO calls via Zen due to cost. I have unlimited everything on my phone, a 4G everything unlimited router for backup, Skype, Sipgate and a clutch of other options at around 1p per minute. I could drop £29:99 Zen broadband and barely miss it let alone line rental. The point of my post was continuing increasingly irrelevant line rental with SOGEA the future and scandalous call charge hikes, when Zen should be compensating call income via VOIP instead of hitting those with no option. Adding a call package would clearly price Zen out as an option with me preferring a return to the likes of Pulse8.

Call costs were always outside of bundles unless you bought a call package.

Zen 2x services:
Line 1 (B26) 75mb down - 19mb up (Fibre 2)
Line 2 (TQ5) 39.9mb down - 9.9mb up (Fibre 1)

I too find their call charges (either per minute or a bundle) prohibitive so I have voted with my feet. After a couple of calls to check out tech support with various possible I have switced to Pulse8. Minor hiccup on the changeover - my fault not setting VLAN ID on router. Tech support answer within 15 seconds, calls 1p/min landline and 8p/min mobile, monthly charges cheaper than Zen, no contract. As an unexpected benefit I found my download speed slightly faster than Zen. Ticks all my boxes.
