I posted several weeks ago in this thread that I am migrated to GEA, as are 2 of my neighbours and the connection for all of us is performing better than it ever has in latency and speed. We're all on the Almondsbury (near Bristol) exchange and live ~11 miles away. 2 of us have 900Mbps and the 3rd I think has 500Mbps. Currently have had a stable session for 850hrs continuously. Would be longer apart from I did a firmware update on my router.

If you check my post I even posted BQM graphs showing the night it swapped.

Yeah, let's stack up the variables!..... When Zen tried that router here and I had the same fault, it worked exactly the same for me as the normal Fritz box though...... May as well make full use of FakeJake's free testing though? !!!

New router is for the new connection. But if I have issues then I've got both models to hand.

Thanks Zebb_edi, now things get interesting..... I notice you are near Bristol, yet FakeJake, Fido and myself are all in the NorthWest (Cheshire) - So, a slightly different plea! has anyone in the NorthWest (Cheshire / Manchester) been successfully or otherwise migrated?

I would want to try the new FTTP service ASAP, a PC with a PPPoE connection would be a quick and easy test.

You would 'think' so, but you could very well be wrong! When I had this fault it worked just fine using a Mac PPPOE test, but not with the FritzBox or Technicolor routers, it did work (partially) using an Apple TimeCapsule as a router though. I'm afraid this is a deep and tough technical problem, and seems to depend on how individual TCP stacks handle packet loss.
