'Unlucky to live in the North West'? I wonder.... anything to do with routing? That's what I am wondering.......

So I've just got home and decided to do a cheeky quick and dirty test and switch the current router to port 2 on the ONT and... https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/8473234551

This is just on my phone over WiFi. Ethernet speeds will be better.

Very happy now. Job well done 👍

I'm going to stream this week's episode of the Orville and then switch the router back over to port 1.

I have unplugged the Samknows box for now to stop it from submitting really good test results. I'll plug it back in once switched back to port 1. (If you're reading this, Sorry Brandon, it will be back soon!)

In reply to a post by SteveBushell999:
Sorry, not cables!

Plug same cable into router that I use into the ONT, and no cables have changed in any case. I repeat !!! ALL this only occurred simultaneously with my GEA migration..... I changed no cables during that time, nor any of my equipment.

As I say on another post, it strongly seems like the 'router issue' is a red-herring, and is simply a symptom rather than the cause.

What the cause is? I'll publish as soon as I know, Zen engineer coming here tomorrow, don't think they'd do that if they suspected cabling! Or that 3 different routers suddenly fail in the same way !

Fascinating that you had a 4-port Huawei ONT installed. It’s yet another oddity in a what is a very unusual situation.

No, I don't have a 4 port ONT, only a 2 port one, but the point still stands, as it turned out, nothing at fault my end, all suddenly worked when they unmigrated me!

Still wondering what other peoples experience of Zen GEA migration is in the North West, successful or not..... My straw poll so far is 'worked' : 0, 'failed' : 3. But the sample is rather small wink !

I believe they were the model being deployed at the time.

So, that's back to how it 'should' be! Just for clarity is that a GEA Migrated connection, or as things were before March (Un Migrated)?

This is the connection on port 2, which is via BTW (as things were before the migration in March)

So, as far as we know, so far - Successful Migrations: 0 and Unsuccessful: 3 (as far as the North West is concerned)
