2Gbps + More Static IP's

[link to this post]

I live in a city fiber area and was wondering if anyone knows if Zen can provide more than 1 static IP?

As well as any plans to provide 2gbps? Currently only Yayzi provide 2gbps but with a £99 install cost @ £50 per month. Only £5 more than I pay VM for 1gig.

Cheers

They can and do. Back in the day you could have a block of 6 IPv4 for free. Nowadays you'll need to pay but I'm not sure of the cost.

You will get IPv6 from Zen and that includes more than one address, if of any use.

A couple of ISPs (inc AAISP who are on CityFibre) offer up to 8 IPv4 addresses for no extra cost. But they are business grade and price!

AFAIK 2 gig on CF is regional at the moment. Are you in an area where you know its available? I'd expect most ISPs to offer it only when available nationally. But that's just speculation.

Thanks

Yes, 2gbps is available in Peterborough but only via that one company it seems at the moment.

They can, but it isn't free. Zen recently took back any and all free/complimentary IPV4's given to some customers outside their package, leaving a maximum of 1 free static IP. It's users within specific IP ranges who are affected.

Got to milk all that excessive IPV4 for every penny.

Edit: clarified point above. doesn't affect all users, pot luck what range your IP is in. Could have made it fairer and moved some blocks about rather than luck determining who's having features removed. Those affected are also having their paid for static IP change.

I guess there's still time but they've not had mine back yet.
My understanding is they are taking back IPs from a specific range, no doubt in order to sell that entire block. My numbers don't appear to be on that list.

You're quite right. Clarified that in my post.
