The tricky part is the actual house layout. What faces the short footpath from the street is not great in that extra mains extension or long cat5 from ONT to router would be needed.

Best leave the issue/headache of installing FTTP to the provider.

My present FTTC the handset is into a filter on an extension from the master socket.

And FTTP is available.

I'm just going through a phase of muddled decision making and what are the key points for any changes!
