Just about to order a question

[link to this post]

I have filled in the order form and am looking for full fibre along side my VDSL. If I fire off the order will it cancel my landline or will I get a second line anyone been through this process? Seems all the BT companies will disconnect your phone in favour of digital voice.

Are you in a CF or OR area for the Fiber?

If its OR they will cease your VDSL line.. If it's CF I am 99% sure your VDSL will stay active.

Connection Speed: DL: 2Gpbs UL: 1Gpbs
Speed test: DL 1.8Gbps UL: 945Mbps

You need to make sure you're ordering a new line, not an upgrade of an existing service nor a "one-touch switch" from another provider.

If the online form doesn't make this clear, then pick up the phone and place your order manually. Then ask for a written (E-mail) confirmation that this is what you've ordered.

I second this.

If you order a new FTTP line, there is no reason for anything to be cancelled and this is definitely the low risk route.

Order the new FTTP line and once it is up and running migrate your phone to a 3rd party VoIP provider (AAISP, Voipfone and Voipify would be my preferred choices depending on your landline usage); that will cancel your existing joint broadband and phone package.

Happy days!

I did email but decided to go with AA. Which has explicit choice between OTS and new installation.
