Outage last night?

does this look like an outage?

my server was offline for 3 hours last night and recovered on its own, presumably when the connection came back up?

Well if you were there and had power, it looks like an outage. Otherwise it could be either power cut or internet outage.

Looking at the time, this is around the time both Zen (and probably upstream providers) maintenance tends to happen.

thanks, we have full house UPS, so should not have been power, my UPS logs show no cuts or down time.

Zen confirmed it was an unplanned outage, but they had no real detail from OR on why or what.

This is the main reason I decided to try another ISP in a couple of weeks. I've had one too many of these outages in the last 18 months, which is a shame as the service otherwise has been great.

Presumably not an ISP using BT Wholesale or OpenReach?

I switched over to CityFibre when I moved to Zen. I think one or two of the outages have been related to CF but the majority seem to revolve around planned maintenance with Zen. I will find out if I was right in the next 12 months. I am in the fortunate position of having access to Open reach And Virgin fibre options as well but I'm staying with CF for now
