Most networks don’t give exact build dates too far in advance. Openreach tend to be one of the more transparent operators, or at least make their rollout information relatively easy to access. You can check some of the info and check your area here:

https://www.openreach.com/fibre-broadband/where-when...

In general, networks are reluctant to commit to firm dates until work has actually started. Until there are “spades in the ground”, there’s always the risk of delays due to things like wayleaves, blocked ducts, or other unexpected issues, and providers understandably want to avoid setting expectations they may not be able to meet.

On further investigation, it appears that FTTP is available (if required) a couple of house numbers closer to the (BT / Openreach ?) cabinet.

I guess I'll have to wait a bit, it's just frustrating that there is no plan available to the public.

Is that FTTP or FTTPoD (FTTP on demand)?

FTTPoD is the custom variant with typical costs around the five-figure mark for installation (and no guaranteed timescales). If it is the retail customer-oriented FTTP you could try filling in the BT "my neighbours can get FTTP but I can't" form. If you search this Forum the link to the form has been published a number of times.
