Your reasons seem a little thin on the ground.

What types in particular, and what do you suggest instead and why?

Bob: Demon dialup >> Freeserve dialup >> BT Broadband >> Prodigynet >> Newnet >> O2 Standard.
Purple Cloud for domain, email and web space.

We have totally stopped selling Entanet based products to new customers and we now own our own bandwith. Exisiting customers on our old entanet based products will remain as they are untill they wish to move to our new products or migrate away.

Regards

Mike

I think he's confused these guys with the very thin vISPs that were around a few years ago and/or the oversold merchants like E7 etc.

Although the Enta and Ex-Enta resellers are all relatively small and clearly are taking big new steps with the "own bandwidth" and resold LLU packages they have almost all been around for several years now. Atleast 2 (ADSL24 and Titan I think- apologies if not) have even changed hands in that time and so hopefully some due diligence occurred there too.

It does seem odd to just pop up and lob a couple of rocks and go away again.

I get transferred over this Thursday (21st May) So sooner than yours I'll pop back and let you know how I am getting on with them, currently with ADSL24 which started on about a 1mb connection however managed to squeeze 2mb out of it by tweaking the SNR.

Looking forward to not having the BT IP Profile!

You'll hear from me Friday I would of thought.

Pleased I found Vivaciti!!!

Well after being at this house for 2.5 years, it has taken me to now to see the light, obviously I have only been connected for an hour or so, but I have managed to tweak my SNR giving me a connection rate of 2870 kbps down and 728 kbps up with a 4.7db noise margin.

That sync speed has given me a 2500kbps profile with immediate effect (no more waiting for BT Bras profile to kick in) and This is the highest speed test I have ever had on my line!

Ping time is also about 10ms faster than I got with adsl24 (30% improvement).

I am well chuffed and to think I have wasted those years settling with 1mb (only recently has it gone up to 1.5mb), I will give you another update after the weekend once I have been using the connection for a few days, but so far so good.

Thanks Vivacity!!!
