Re PN offer of a fiver off for 6 months, and a 12 month contract. If the customer died would his estate be responsible for the remaining balance?

Hi Puter,
Common sense will generally apply in these sort of situations. I believe that as a rule, we normally cancel off these accounts without holding them to a 30 day cancellation period.

Thanks for worrying we 70+ members
Don't think many companies would try to enforce a contract in those circumstances - could you imagine the adverse publicity for starters.
Probably require a death certificate ( copy) but that's normal practice.

Presumably all canoe owners may be vetted more thoroughly?

There must be very many "silver surfers" out there with 12 month contracts
that actually DO die!
Perhaps there is something in the ISPA code of practice as legally it will
be a charge upon the estate.
In all probablity the surviving spouse would keep the contract on for their
own benefit though.
