Plusnet LRS

[link to this post]

Do I understand right that for Plusnet BB and phone (Unlimited Weekends) package, if pay the line rental saver option, is it right this only includes only calls to Plusnet? No inclusive calls even at weekends? Not even to 18185?

Pretty sure that 18185 is not chargeable on Plusnet on any call plan at any time if that helps.

I' have not come across that restriction and we list a Anytime product with line rental saver as an option, so suggests their documentation says you still get the inclusive calls that apply to the package you buy.
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/isp/plusnet/package/12...

The words "Call features and call charges will still be billed monthly" on their product pages will be referring to calls outside the package you pay for.

No, inclusive means all calls of up to 60 minutes to 01/02/03, 0845 and 0870 numbers. 18185 is never chargeable, other than the charges levied by 18185 itself. Free calls to Plusnet phone customers at all times are in addition to this.

Correct, the new LRS is simply Line Rental only, no calls are included.

Time to update our product listings to avoid complaints.

What is the cost to add weekend calls to LRS? Or can you only upgrade to anytime?

That is right - I think it costs £1.50 to add evenings and weekends and you can't just add weekends

Apologies to OP then, I stand corrected (apart from the 18185 bit).

Chris, Might I suggest that your Web-Site is not particularly clear??

As an example, for Plusnet Anytime, I apparently get:-
Anytime calls to UK landlines^
0870/0845 calls included all the time^
Free calls to Plusnet Support
25% off top international call destinations^

Plus £14.50 a month line rental.

Where the link in the "line rental" gives:-

Line Rental

When you switch your phone service to Plusnet you'll pay line rental to us, instead of your current provider. Pay £14.50 monthly or save money with Line Rental Saver.

Line Rental Saver

Pay for 12 months line rental in advance for £131.88, equivalent to a monthly price of £10.99 (only available online).

Call features and call charges will still be billed monthly

On that basis, had I not read your post, I would have reasonably expected that the comparison between Line Rental & Line Rental Saver was on a "like-for-like" basis (i.e. if free calls were part of the Line Rental, then they would also be part of Line Rental Saver), because it IS directly comparing the £14.50 monthly figure with the equivalent £10.99 figure!!

That isn't what it says here http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,1147...
Line Rental Saver has increased to £131.88 (equivalent of £10.99pcm) and will not feature any included calls apart from those to Plusnet support and other Plusnet customers (you can add the 'Plusnet Anytime', 'Plusnet Anytime International' or 'Mobile' bolt-on).

I would like to add my voice to those who have said the website needs to be made much clearer on this point, which I hadn't picked up until today. I am an LRS customer so presumably will be stung by this at my next renewal.

Presume people are happy with the wording

"Line Rental Saver can reduce the cost of the telephone line (£131.88 per year, equivalent to £10.99 per month). Line Rental Saver does not include any inclusive calls, Evenings and Weekends or Anytime call bundles can be added."

Which we've added to our PlusNet listings where line rental is mentioned

2. I'm part way through my LRS contract and it's up for renewal soon, what happens when it expires? will I have to pay the new price?

No, your Line Rental Saver will remain at the price you currently pay (£125.88) and you'll remain on the older call tariff with Evening & Weekend calls.

It should be a full stop between "calls" and "Evening". Not a comma. But it appears to be wrong anyway, as calls to other PlusNet phone users seem to be included.
