Just wanted to let folks know that my Plusnet fibre install this morning has gone without any problems whatsoever. A very helpful engineer sorted out relocating the master socket and I now have 73Mbps download which is more than the promised 60Mbps so a very happy customer. Well done Plusnet!

Promised 62mbps got 73mbps.

I am a business customer and live in a fibre area but haven't decided to move to FTTC yet because I don't want to interrupt a solid connection I have at the moment (which is adsl2 with AnnexM at around 17mbps sync)

It is nice to see that things are going well. Can I ask how long you were without internet for - if at all? Was this an upgrade from adsl/adsl2 or a new install?

If you're not changing ISP there should be very little interruption. I think I was down for less than half an hour when I upgraded.

Mine was only down for as long as it took the engineer to connect things at the FTTC cabinet, drive the 200m to my house, swap my face-plate and install the VDSL Modem (I say 'install', all that he actually did was get it out of the box, connect the wires and switch on!). It all worked immediately. He left me to fit the Modem to the wall (at my request). Probably no more than 30mins from his initial phone call to say he was at the cabinet to when he left my house.

Mine was only down while the engineer was making the switch took him about 45 mins.

My daughter went from Talk Talk ASDL to PN fibre and didn't have a connection for 10 days because the engineer was a "no show" and had wait for another appointment!
