As can be seen here!!
Plusnet have ceased my account early... I may be without any fixed service now until latye Wednesday which is already having a detrimental affect on household workings and will certainly have a more significant affect as the next 30 minutes roll by !
I'm supposed to be migrating to Zen, Plusnet said Wednesday 16th but don't take a genius to notice that its only just Tuesday the 15th!
Now got to find a way of getting the house back online in order to keep it and the office ticking over until Zen's taken over.. f... me what a useless ISP Plusnet have become!

What date did Zen give you?
If migrating into Plusnet is any guide, Plusnet give 00:00 of the day after the expected date, so perhaps they do the same on leaving. Though strangely, they didn't tell me a leaving date in the email.
Are you sure you haven't been migrated to Zen? My move to AAISP occurred at about 00:08.

Zen gave an estimate of 15th... Plusnet sent me an email saying they would cease the service there end on the 16th....
Not sure how your AA connection is provided but mines going over Zen's LLU and not BT's 21CN...
I've tried logging in with various username and passwords but no success.. I have noticed that my line has been reset too... I no longer have G.INP and now sync at a sucky 58000 rather that 66000 and if that continues I may be requesting an Openreach visit!

You mean you don't know your Zen username and password?
Zen told you the 15th, and it is. As I said, Plusnet's 16th could very well be 23:59 on the 15th + 1 minute, meaning any time before that on the 15th.
I bet if you work out your Zen login, then it is working.

Use your Virgin Media connection?

think it happens to everyone mate, ignition posted about it, happened to me also.
Also i hope plusnet fix their weird performance issues, simply for the reason I am curious what the problem is.

Hi everyone,
Sorry for the rant last night, sort of blew my top a bit
I'm still without a connection, I have entered the username provided by Zen and my account password into the router but still getting CHAP Auth. Failed and Modem Hangup...
FYI, Ignition I don't have Virgin Media at this location due to useless network locally...
I'm going to contact Zen and see what they say!

|
|
|
Strange to read about your grief, I'm also leaving PlusNet scheduled for tomorrow the 16th but so far this morning everything is working as normal, although I'm assuming nothing will happen until tomorrow?
|
|
|
Well it turns out that it was today for the migration and Plusnet had got the date slightly wrong...
if your's is the 16th (quoted by new provider) then you will lose access to the internet at midnight as Plusnet seam to just cease the account!
|
|
|
Are you connected to Zen then? I did say I thought it would be today.
As it was a strange sort of migration, (Zen is not conventional LLU), a time lag during it could have been simply what happens.

Just [censored] that Plusnet said the 16th and cut me off early!
|
|
|
I'm suggesting they didn't cut you off. The migration process started while you were trying to use the connection, and took a while.
They sent me an email saying I had left within minutes of that happening to me.
I'v already given a theory as to why they said 16th. That's why I asked what Zen had forecast.

I don't know... anyway I'm away and everything is performing better since!

Was there anything in the login details that you hadn't realised, such as the VPI/VCI that I suggested?

Oh yeah sorry and no there wasn't!
|
|
|
Should still be 0/38 but Zen use their LLU backhaul and supply a standard pppoe VDSL2 connection don't they? If so the VPI/VCI wouldn't matter as it does not apply?

FYI, Ignition I don't have Virgin Media at this location due to useless network locally...
Okay. Usually when people have speedtests and/or BQMs in their forum signature they own the service in question hence the confusion.

We're not talking a laptop and iPad here... were talking about an office with servers and a also the whole entertainment within the home attached !
Running an 'office with servers' off a single home connection with no resiliency is probably not a good idea.
I'm sure you wouldn't recommend it to any of your 'clients'.

Sorry for the confusion, I do own the connections in my signature, however it's running in another location...

Well would you believe it I went out for an hour and when I came back no internet? All of the green lights except internet were showing on my TP-Link router so I tried my new Uno login and bingo I'd been transferred a day early. Like you mimclaren I received an email from PlusNet saying I would migrate on the 16th, none of the four info emails from Uno stated any date. So there you have it obviously they can't get rid of us fast enough!

LOL
I knew Plusnet had some issue connecting new customers but not being able to give a date that we're disconnecting thats accurate is pretty funny too!
|
|
|
Seems to happen a lot. Perhaps Plusnet just add one day to the date BT Wholesale give them when telling customers their migration date.

Just realised that what happened with your connection was supposed to happen with mine... the difference is that Plusnet ceased my line too early in order for Zen to take it.
It was supposed to be that Zen took the line while Plusnet still provided my service which seems to be what happen with you, in this case it would mean that I would go offline, put in my user details (like I did last night) and then I would of been connected...
From what I've seen this morning, it looks like Zen took over the line at around 9am. so between 00:15 and 9am my line was dead!

I think it's an issue with switching between LLU and BTw!
I think BTw migration is straight swap of user details where the switch to LLU requires the line to be released by one then picked up by another...

Unlimited and fast speed should have no bearing on time.

The switch to LLU is an actual physical cable change whereas switch within BTW is just a software change. It's possible that BT made the physical change to your line but that Zen hadn't yet done their bit to bring you onto their network - potentially nothing in PlusNet's control at all.

Plusnet have confirmed that they ceased my connection at midnight....
If Plusnet didn't do that then my connection would of stayed up until the physical change that happened this morning!

Yeah well uploading 10's of GByte's during the day when your also emailing attachment's and making and received VoIP calls.. ect....
Until we get simultaneous upstreams and downstream's we will be stuck doing such task during the small hours.

As the original poster is on FTTC, it's just a software reconfiguration of the Openreach systems to present traffic from the customer's FTTC DSLAM port to the Zen C-VLAN at the handover point rather that the BT Wholesale C-VLAN.
I made the transition from BT Wholesale to Zen LLU last year whilst a Zen FTTC customer because Zen unbundled my exchange. The connection dropped on BT Wholesale at 00:21 and came back up on Zen LLU at 00:33. Obviously there was no change in PPPoE user name and password involved, as I remained a Zen customer.
I thought Zen had MSANs in at least some exchanges though I appreciate there is some doubt as to exactly what Zen install. Unless things have changed, Zen always use WLR3 for voice rather than a voice line card in a Zen MSAN.
