Just chatting with Plusnet customer services. I was having similar problems to yesterday's BT/Plusnet outage. Non responsive pages and slow connections to some sites
It does seem to be a very similar instance to yesterday, with a currently suspected outage at a different data centre. At the moment, this is speculation, but I believe it a power loss again
We've got staff on site now, and should get it up and running within the next few hours
Ah well...

Something is up this morning too. The Plusnet gateway checker (debug mode) shows a marked change of routing to yesterday lunchtime.

What is the point of a status page if it doesn't give the current status?

Nothing showing when I checked the status page earlier.
Perhaps they are trying to update it via a plusnet connection?

You might think you're joking but a few years ago there was a major Plusnet outage that lasted for a few days (to be totally solved) and the reason they couldn't update the status page was that they couldn't reach it!

I can well believe it.
It's like the message on their phones to save you waiting you can view our website. How, if as it usually the case for phoning them: if you can't get the Internet?
Not enough thought goes into these things.

A Plusnet Customer support representative when discussing a different matter to the outage apologised for my long telephone wait saying that they were having many people calling in. Confirming both wednesday and thursday morning had been very busy call wise due to people not being to access the internet and this was not the norm.

Many customers have mobile phones that websites can be viewed from too which is why we put that message on there.

The above post has been made by an ISP REPRESENTATIVE (although not necessarily the ISP being discussed in the post).
