I can certainly say that this has absolutely nothing to do with your taking the loyalty offer.

Could you possibly try running a BT Speedtest for me, so that we can try and see where the problem lies?

Cheers for the reply James. Here are the BT Speedtest results which are abismal!(it took about 5 attenpts before the page would actually load!!):

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 6500 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 7616 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 920 kbps

Hi,

I'd suggest running the test off peak as well to compare, as you've gone over the 13GB the peak time speeds will be reduced as per this page:

But browsing though should be OK, the traffic stays at the same priority but will just be rate limited to a lower rate. Are you running anything else at the same time as browsing (e.g. file upload/downloads)? If so try disabling that and see if that improves the browsing.

Hi Dave

Nothing else running and its reallt starting to get on my nerves now.

I am currently looking for a new digital camera and most of the pics on every page I look at are not loading at all despite constant page refreshes! I am a Computer Engineer by trade so have tried the obvious things. I haven't installed and new software and nothing is running in background apart from AntiVirus and also essential Vista processes.

Have you tried a disconnect/reconnect or rebooted your router? As I say browsing should still be OK. If it's still the same then my next suggestion would be to dial test it as yourself from here. Would need to do it after 4pm tomorrow when the peak time management is applied and see what we see. If there's a good time when you can disconnect for 20 minutes let me know and I'll make sure it's tested (we can't connect at the same time you're connected).

Well its now so bad that my connection is crawling along. Just did the BT Speedtest again and got 450kbps which equates to about 56KB/s - a little more than dialup!

What a joke.

Yep - disconnected several times. Will try once more though. I can turn my router off about 4.15pm tomorropw if that's any good?

Hi there,

It might be an idea to see if we can get the CSC to dialtest your connection to see if we're seeing the same problem as you. You shouldn't be seeing that kind of restriction under level 1 management!

Agreed your speeds are slow but dialup was 56kbps not kBps.

So your connection is 8 times faster than dial up (but still pants).
