Chances of getting a refund

[link to this post]

I've been with PlusNet since 2001 and have recently had the misfortune of trying to get them to move my broadband to a new address (19 days without broadband so far). What are my chances of getting a refund of my migration charge and broadband costs with my MAC code without involving OFCOM or some other regulator?

Any suggestions of who to move to would also be appreciated. I'd like to move to O2 but they aren't in my area yet (on their page they say they are coming to my area soon so I was able to register interest) so I'm looking for someone reliable who won't tie me in to a long term contract.

As much as I feel for you, I regret to say that from past bitter experience, the chances of getting *anything* back from them are slim to none. What you will get are excuses about how it was someone else's fault and how their costs are so low that they can't really give you a refund. They may even find a way of making it your fault! The last time I tried Ofcom because I was without service for 3 days, I didnt get very far (I cant remember what Ofcom told me when I called).

I read about higher speeds and good service from UKonline so I'm moving there having been satisfied with their replies to my emails.

Hi Jbond,

I'm sorry to hear that you've had a poor experience with us and I'd be very confident of stating that things here have definitely changed since you left us.

This case is in hand and hopefully we'll reach a resolution shortly. I'll let the OP reveal details should he wish to do so.
