Re: My Line Stats and more.

So, your speed estimate was 50Mb, accurate to within 1Mb.

Your connection syncs at 49390 Kbps (49.39 Mbps).

That's within the 1Mb.

Your BT IP Profile/BRAS Rate should be approximately 96.79% of the sync speed i.e. around 47.8Mb.

From that, your MAXIMUM throughput speed (at a quiet time with no contention) should be around 94% of IP Profile (around 45Mb).

The TBB & BT speed testers are known to be rather pessimistic.

What throughput speed do you see from www.speedtest.net?

Interleaving is set at fastpath, so your connection must be quite/very stable.
Also, as SNRM is around the target 6dB, there is absolutely no scope for increased speeds.

Is there anything else you would like to know, bearing in mind your original claim of 76Mb speeds being promised?

The fact your connection syncs in excess of 40 Mb confirms you must be on the "up to" 76Mb service - emphasis on the "up to".

Actually, I think that Superspeed has been treated very badly by Plusnet and the best advice would be to cut his/her losses, pay off the remaining contract and move to a different ISP... smile

Great Bald_Eagle1 you are on here as well. smile While looking up my modem last night, you came up on a certain computer forum and was giving very detailed advice, about members line stats and what could or could not be achieved, or how fast.

Thanks appreciate it. smile

I did a speed test about six hours ago. You can see it here http://s6.postimage.org/cnoru9401/BT_speed_test_28_0... It says ip profile 47 today but is mostly on, 44. All my speed test are linked in my profile. Here http://postimage.org/gallery/9fdw07u6/

Results from speedtester.net http://www.speedtest.net/result/2468887688.png

The 76 was a mistake on my part. I am on a 80/20 profile though.

Is there anything else you would like to know, bearing in mind your original claim of 76Mb speeds being promised?

Thanks but can't think of much at the moment. I would like to know if you think DLM has had an effect on my speeds? Not sure if you can tell.

Thanks much appreciated. smile

Ok ok you, Mr saffron, Bald_Eagle1 and others are right then. I am not going to get much more than that with my stats.

I can't squeeze anymore out of my line either. frown

I just hope it don't go down to below 39mbps or less. I'm sure I would be right to complain then. No chance then I will be able to get this then. http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/products/broad...

Actually as of the spring you almost certainly will be able to get the 160Mbps product. It is FTTP only but BT are planning to offer FTTC customers the ability to upgrade. Only slight issues is that it would probably cost you more than £1500 for the installation charge as you seem to be a fair distance from the cabinet.

Your lone could also drop in speed over time as more people near you get connected as it could increase crosstalk - and whilst you could complain it is very unlikely you would get anywhere as the products are entirely reliant on physics and therefore can't deliver more than is possible for the line.
