After having the FTTC cab installed in March 2012, it finally had the power feed fitted last month.
Had modem installed today (well yesterday as it's now after midnight), & it has 80/20 sync
Now a very happy bunny

It's just unbelievable when you see the speeds aren't all just stories made up to frustrate people .

Yep, it's a little bit faster than when I started home computing.
Back then in 1977/78 it was 300 baud on my old trusty Tandy TRS80 mod1 + old GPO modem.
Mind you, the printer was slower, 50 baud on an old GPO teleprinter.

This brings back memories; just looking at a plastic case of 15 minute tapes that I made on my TRS80 in 1979/1980. Often wonder if I could somehow get them working in some way?

I seem to remember that printers back in our day, cost an arm & a leg
That's why I used the teleprinter (cost £5 as scrap), but was very slow & upper case only. Still, it was fine for printing out listings, when I was programming.

I very soon got fed up with the speed of tapes.
I added the expansion box, & a couple of double sided, 40 track floppy drives.
The Tandy TRSdos couldn't handle 40 track or double sided, so I used Ldos, with was far better.
It was up in the loft for years, but I dumped it about 5 years ago.

It was actually 15 July 2006.

Yes so did I so got a Seimens Tandy workalike; my friend supplied it. Dual 5.25"floppy disks. Think that was running Ldos.
