Current line speed - is this profile or sync speed?

Hi guys,

When I've asked Plusnet for various stats on my line on their forums, they've told me various information.

On my latest attempt to fix a potential fault, they said my sync speed was 41/10.9, and that their profile was set for 39.6Mbps down.

On their member centre, under the current line speed, their explanation is that it should be showing sync speed, but mine appears to be showing the profile speed.

Which is the 'current line speed' option in the member centre supposed to show?

It's the profile speed. My parents shows as 18.9 Mbps but the router syncs at a bit over 21 Mbps.

It is defined as the IP Profile rounded down. Note that it actually says "is based on your sync speed". That is true, but based on does not mean "is".

If you delve a little deeper (while logged in) you get this page, which under the table in section says it equals the IP Profile. Which isn't quite true, as explained.

So.. my currently speed showing in the member centre is 42Mb dead. From what Plusnet have told me, my upload should be about 10-10.9.

Is it normal to get consistently 2Mb/s below these values? I can't get any higher than 40/8.
