In reply to a post by Oldjim:
https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer... is probably the reason
Either wait for it to sort itself or phone up

Thanks. Err I know you are on the Plusnet forums (assuming you are the same Oldjim), but how do you know how to get information about my connection?

Yup
and the current line speed is what you need fixing - it should be 5.5Mb

The Current line speed is used by Plusnet to limit your download speed. It is supposed to be the IP Profile in kbps rounded down to the 100Mbps below the actual.

You find the IP Profile by running the BT Performance Test and continuing to the Further Diagnostics.

The PN figure should adjust within hours of a profile change. If it doesn't the best thing to do is ring them and get it set correctly.

Overlapping posts smile.

But you've missed a sync drop to 4544kbps. So IP Profile I expect is 4Mbps, and Current line speed should be 4 or 3.9Mbps, depending on how they handle a 4007kbps detailed IP Profile.

That is about what it was before the problem of noisy line was fixed (see my first post in the thread). I will have to contact PN again. Maybe the Openreach guy did something of course frown Seemed on the ball I thought.

That gives
Download speedachieved during the test was - 2.58 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 1.2 Mbps-4 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 4.01 Mbps

crazy

Edit:I didn't restart the router or disable security like it said do

All those red instructions are rubbish. Following them can change the situation, making diagnosis of any real problem even harder. So don't worry about that.

We could do with the full router stats again please smile. IIRC your last lot showed you on ADSL2 instead of ADSL2+ for instance.
