There probably wouldn't be much difference, as the attenuation may go up by about 3dB on ADSL2+. In either case you will get much more once the SNR Margin comes down to a more normal figure.

You can either wait, or see if they will reset the line for you. Seeing as it could be 10-14 days for 3dB, then the same for the next three, I think I would get onto them.

Hi there,

Sorry I've not been able to get back to you before now.

It looks like we've just been waiting to hear back from you re 87906949 as to if the phone fault was fixed.

Re your connection speeds I've just submitted an SNR reset which should hopefully lead to some improvement within the next few hours.

Adam,

Have replied to ticket thus:

Hi Adam,

Thanks for getting back (via TBB forum) smile

Sad to report though that although the line (synch) speed is up to where it ought to be with its lower SNR, the speeds as tested is unchanged (see http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/results.html... It surely can't be to do with Openreach and the new VDSL2 socket they fitted (apparently they are doing this to everyone they go to) or the router would not see 6429kbps.

This is tested at the PC with an ethernet connection only. I get a similar result still using speedtest.net on a mobile.

What do you suggest? frown

Just to add stats now again:

Don't forget the Plusnet Current line speed only updates two or three times a day.

Judging by the drop in sync speed you rebooted the router. That may have triggered things. IP Profile will be 5.2Mbps I expect, with Current line speed 5.1Mbps.

No I didn't reboot it. Must have happened sometime yesterday evening. Speed test currently 4760.
