I'm out of my Plusnet 18 month FTTC contract, and the best effective rate for 80/20 unlimited broadband and phone(after cashback/vouchers/and other discounts) was not being offered by Plusnet - I should end up effectively paying under £20 month for everything with my new ISP. When that contract ends I will look around again for the best value provider.
I'm moving to TalkTalk residential and we'll see how that goes. Basically if you wade through their bad online reviews(just like Plusnet) the conclusion you'll probably reach is that their products are OK but the overseas support is a bit weak(residential UK support from community forums as an alternative). I don't think I'd recommend them to a customer who requires hand holding or has a problematic line but in my case I hope to be able to cope with any problems they throw up.
I think Plusnet still provide one of the best value options for fibre and they should definitely be on your list.
