I'm also curious about what differences I'll see in performance, luckily most of my usage doesn't tax my current Plusnet connection to its limits.

Given the cheap price TT are good, but don't expect sync speed data rates in peak hours.

Total codswallop, i've always got line speeds 24/7 on ADSL2+ & now FTTC with TalkTalk for > 4 years. Perhaps i should leave them as it does get a big boring getting the same speeds ALL the time (ie nothing to moan about). Perhaps i should move to coms? LOL

What's funny is the block is easily evaded and it is only serving to advertise previously unknown sites.

Business is obviously different. I have two friends one on adsl and the other on fibre and they both get slowdowns in evenings. Noticeable but not catastrophic. Main reason I don't recommend TT fibre is the 2mbps upload.

plusnet unlimited fibre - 2 Jun 14 - 470m - 80/20 - Summer/dry sync 55/9.4, Winter/wet sync 52/9.1
15 years broadband (1999 ntl:cable trial) - Asus RT-AC68U with HG612 - BQM - Summer PN speed - Winter PN speed

My best speed test under TalkTalk appears to be slightly better than Plusnet - in the lower half of the 70s with a sync of 79987. During the evenings(7PM onwards - haven't checked other time periods) speed tests appear to drop to around 66Mb/s before rising back to the low 70s around 11PM - uploads always pretty steady at around 18.7Mb/s

I'm not the kind of person who obsesses about speed tests and never used to use them regularly with Plusnet so can't provide an in depth comparison. I'm very happy with the performance I'm initially seeing.

I'm getting line speed throughput on TT ADSL, 24/7. Obviously this stuff is sometimes regional, but it all seems fine here.

I do agree with you on the poor 2 meg upload on TT's 40 meg FTTC offering though.

Oliver.

Reviving this thread as tehparadox from Torrentfreak's list now appears to be blocked.

"Access to the websites listed on this page has been blocked pursuant to orders of the high court.

More information can be found at www.ukispcourtorders.co.uk"

Edit - Looks like it was down to routing through BT. a few kicks of the router and now fine.

So a bit like plusnet 80/20 then? unless you really want to keep on hopping from one gateway to another every week or 2
