Where does that output come from please? I can't find the same from mine.

Incidentally, although we all talk about the firmware in the HG612, it's the V100R001C01B030SP08 we mean, which in the GUI is labelled Software. I imagine, but I'm not sure, that the software can vary with a constant firmware.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync 60000/16961kbps @ 600m. - IPv4BQM IPv6BQM

In reply to a post by David_W:
The key thing with firmware for unlocked HG612s is that you use a B030SP08 version. All the B028 versions are obsolete and will not work correctly with G.INP.
The B030SP06 version that i use also works with G.inp

That output comes from the Stats tab

Thanks - that explains why, as I don't have that.

You can check the "software" version using your browser. Just go to 192.168.1.1 (assuming that is your modem IP address) and sign in.

Yes, I flashed the HG612 with V100R001C01B030SP08 as this is the latest which supports G.INP according to KITZ. The SP10 does not support G.INP. I have a couple of these at clients offices where there is a problem and remote into the servers then view the stats. DSLStats allows me to take a snapshot of the connection details at various times of the day and stores them in a directory which I then access. Mind you, most of the ISP's first line support cannot understand the details and I usually get diverted to a real engineer !!. It's worth it just for that.

If you look closely at the SP10s, they are earlier - B028SP10 smile.

yes you are right. I think the sp10 is 2011 and the sp08 is 2014. I downloaded it from
http://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php?topic=14262.0
(I hope that doesn't contravene any rules). If it does please delete it

Re: G.INP

[re: jchamier] [link to this post]

Sorry to have started this debate once again! I'm currectly with Plusnet's FFTC with BTOR's ECI Modem, model No. B-Focus V-2FUB/R Rev-B, and PLusnet's TG582n Router ALL using "original" firmwares. How do I know that my above BTOR ECI modem is supporting G.INP and is ENABLED??
I realised that I have to find a way of locking into my ECI Model while its WLAN port so that I could read its configurations etc, but for that how exactly I may do that as well?

Thanks for any recommendations.....

I am not aware of any way to unlock the ECI modem without drilling the case to open it and connecting to the serial port pads on the circuit board. Even if you go through this process, I am not aware of any firmware that provides bidirectional G.INP support and it is not clear the chipset is even capable of bidirectional G.INP with new firmware.

If you are interested in full G.INP support, it's probably best to get a version 3B HG612 with the white PSU from a well known auction site (don't pay much more than around £25), then install the unlocked B030SP08 firmware.

At the moment, Openreach seem to be concentrating their G.INP efforts on Huawei cabinets. G.INP appears to be more difficult to implement on the ECI cabinets owing to the chipset used on the line cards, and I am not aware of any clear plans from Openreach about G.INP on ECI cabinets.
